Welcome to the October issue of VTS Mobile World in 2018 – your IEEE Vehicular Technology Society newsletter. This issue presents a great deal of material, including messages from our Society President and Vice President—Conferences, a call for nominations for the 2019 Class of Distinguished Lecturers, a call to participate in VTS’ annual elections, as well as news from the VTS Resource Center.
This issue features the ceremony where the 2018 VTS annual awards, as well as those of VTC2018-Fall, were announced, in Chicago at the end of August 2018. A full list of awards is included, along with some wonderful pictures! We encourage you to seek out worthy recipients (or even yourself!) to nominate for awards in the future.
As usual, this issue has informative technical reports on motor vehicles, connected vehicles, mobile radio, and transportation systems—all major activities of the Society. Associate Editor-in-Chief Richard Yu summarizes an article published recently in IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine, on the topic of vision and requirements for 6G and whether there is any need for beyond 5G networks. He offers an interesting perspective to this timely argument.
As always, I look forward to receiving your feedback on how we are doing, and how we can better serve all VTS members in the future. You can contact me directly by email at a.jamalipour@ieee.org. |
