The choice of Kuala Lumpur has much to offer VTC delegates. The capital of Malaysia, it is the largest city in the country, home to approximately 1.6 million residents. Its skyline is dominated by the world’s tallest twin buildings, the Petronas Twin Towers (pictured above), one of which was built by the Samsung Corporation.
KL is a very progressive city with integrated mass transportation and broadband high-speed internet in abundance. It is one of Southeast Asia’s leading economies and a hub for retail, fashion, banking and finance.
Kuala Lumpur also has an abundance of beautiful and historical sites to visit during leisure time. Just a few miles outside of the city are the Batu Caves, one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside of India.
These limestone caves are said to be around 400 million years old, and if you want to visit the main cave, come prepared to climb 272 steps just to reach the cave mouth!
There are actually three main caves and a few smaller ones in the complex, with two caves at the base of the hill known as the Art Gallery Cave and the Museum Cave. This will certainly be a “must-see” for conference attendees.
Or, you may decide to take the world’s fastest gondola lift to the Genting Highlands Resort, which resides above Kuala Lumpur and is comprised of hotels, casinos, shopping malls, and theme parks at the peak of Mount Ulu Kali. If you enjoy wildlife, you and your family could visit the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary where Malaysia wildlife officials capture, rehabilitate and relocate these majestic creatures.
Kuala Lumpur will be beautiful in April, so in addition to the conference, you will want to experience the history, the food, the beauty and the shopping! Don’t miss this unique opportunity!
