The 2018 IEEE 88th Vehicular Technology Conference will be held during 27–30 August 2018 in Chicago, IL USA. This year, the Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (VPPC) and the Connected and Automated Vehicles Symposium (CAVS) are co-located with the VTC making this event one you won’t want to miss!
Monday will start the week off with CAVS 2018, which aims to bring together researchers who are working on different aspects of CAVS including theory, tools, protocols, networks, applications, systems, test-beds and field deployments. If automated vehicles are not of interest, delegates may spend their time in one of the six workshops or numerous tutorials we offer as part of IEEE VTC2018-Fall.
Tuesday begins with VTC2018-Fall Honorary Chair and keynote speaker Martin (Marty) Cooper, "Father of the Cell Phone". Joining Mr. Cooper as distinguished speakers are Julius Knapp, Chief of the FCC’s Office of Engineering Technology, Danielle Dumerer, CIO and Commissioner, City of Chicago’s Department of Innovation and Technology, and Ann Schlenker, Director of the Center for Transportation Research, Argonne National Laboratory.

Wednesday will feature a Women in Engineering luncheon that will include
an exceptional keynote speaker and lively discussion. Look for
additional information in the very near future.
Throughout the week, participants can attend talks from approximately
600 peer-reviewed high-quality technical papers, from both VTC2018-Fall
and VPPC 2018. A full registration for either VTC or VPPC will allow
the delegate the ability to move between both conferences freely!
VTC2018-Fall’s industry-focused program will feature top-level
executives from major global companies sharing their perspectives on the
industry and new hi-tech developments as applied to their segment of
the industry. Central to their discussions will be the integration of 5G
technologies into their applications of autonomous, connected and
electric vehicles, and important evolutionary advances in Smart Cities
and IoT.
Attendees will have the opportunity to network with some of the world’s
most distinguished industry leaders, and world-renowned researchers from
industry, government, and academia.
Chicago is one of the best high-tech cities in North America. The
