2018 issue of VTS Mobile World – your IEEE Vehicular Technology Society
newsletter. In this issue, our Society President reflects on supporting innovation
and research in autonomous vehicles, an important area for VTS.

Standards coordinator provides an update on the new initiatives in IEEE 802.11
for V2X, broadcast services, and full duplex.
You will meet another re-elected Board of Governors member, who is quite
known to all as our immediate Past President. And as we near the next Society
flagship conference, VTC2018-Spring in Porto, Portugal, a short preview on this
exciting event is presented.

introduces Javier Gozálvez, re-elected BoG member (2018–20). Javier
is Junior Past President of IEEE VTS, has served on the BoG since 2011, and currently is Chair the VTS Nominations Committee. The VTS BoG consists of 15 elected members and a number of appointed members. Each year
five BoG members are elected through general elections among those presented on
