MIn the rapidly evolving rail industry, maintaining track integrity and safety is paramount. Future Maintenance Technologies (FMT), in partnership with NXTGEN Industries, has embarked on a transformative project to develop an automated inspection system for train track infrastructure (Figure 1). This system is designed to capture high-resolution imagery and precise measurements to detect track defects as small as 1 mm with localization accuracy to sub-1-meter.
The Autonomous Rail Infrastructure Inspection System (ARIIS) is an innovative track inspection platform developed and owned by FMT (Figure 2). NXTGEN Industries was engaged to deliver the control systems and embed the advanced NXTGEN Inspect software, enabling real-time data capture, intelligent analysis, and streamlined defect reporting. This partnership brings together trusted hardware and smart software to deliver reliable, automated inspections for rail networks. The advanced autonomous system is meticulously engineered to optimize efficiency, enhance safety, and revolutionize productivity in every operation.
