Over 200 students and professionals were in attendance at one of the most successful lectures of the Electrical Engineering Days held at the university.
The IEEE Student Branch Escuela Politécnica Nacional, together with the IEEE VTS–ITSS–TEC Joint Chapter, proudly hosted Dr. Ibrahim Haskara, Senior Researcher at General Motors R&D and VTS Distinguished Lecturer, for two major academic activities that energized the engineering community.
The first event, a technical keynote lecture titled “EV Propulsion Control & Energy Management,” took place on 14 November 2025 in Auditorium 2 of the Electrical Engineering Building. The session brought together more than 200 participants, marking it as one of the most successful talks of the "Jornadas de Ingenieriía Eléctrica y Electrónica." Attendees explored the evolution of electric vehicle propulsion, intelligent energy management, and advanced control strategies, guided by Dr. Haskara’s extensive industry experience.
Following the keynote, a more intimate Meet & Greet session was held in the Electrical Engineering Department’s meeting room, where 13 IEEE student members engaged directly with the Distinguished Lecturer. Hosted again by the IEEE Student Branch EPN and the VTS–ITSS–TEC Joint Chapter, this gathering allowed students from Electronics and Automation, Telecommunications, Mechatronics, Mechanical, and Software Engineering studies to discuss their research interests, ask career questions, and learn from Dr. Haskara’s personal journey in automotive innovation.
Both activities highlighted the university’s commitment to high-level academic collaboration and provided students with a unique opportunity to interact with a global leader in electric mobility research.
