2018 IEEE Wireless Africa (WA), the first-ever WA, took place at the AAiT (Addis Ababa Institute of Technology) campus of Addis Ababa University, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 24 September 2018. The event attracted over 30 researchers, academics, and graduate students from three countries.
IEEE WA 2018 was financially sponsored by IEEE Vehicular Technology Society and was the first meeting of this the first periodic conference in the name of IEEE held in Africa focusing on wireless technologies.
Attendees had plenty of networking opportunity during breaks which was extended into a dinner. The aim of the conference was well attained providing a platform for wireless researchers in Africa to share their research results, call for comments and collaborations, and exchange innovative ideas of research in wireless technologies.
2018 IEEE Wireless Africa was a truly successful event as the beginning of its series in future. I would like to thank the organizing committee and the technical program committee as well as everybody who contributed. |
