Welcome to the December 2017 issue of VTS Mobile World—your last issue in 2017 for the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society newsletter. To herald this occasion, the outgoing VTS President, Javier Gozálves, will outline some of the great achievements during his two-year term.
Javier will also report on the recent IEEE CDMA Milestone event held at Qualcomm site. Fabrice Labeau, our Vice President—Membership, will give a detailed report on his portfolio and the state of VTS membership in 2017.
VTS Secretary James Irvine will report on the last VTS Board of Governors meeting held during VTC2017-Fall in Toronto in September and also on the results of the Society’s 2017 annual elections and the membership of Board of Governors in 2018.
It has been a very busy and productive year for the Society.
We here at VTS would like to remind you to renew your VTS membership before the
end of year. It is also the time for sending out the call for nominations for
IEEE Fellow Class of 2019.
This
issue of VTS Mobile World includes informative technical reports on motor
vehicles, connected vehicles, mobile radio, and transportation systems—all
major activities of the Society. Our Associate Editor-in-Chief, Richard Yu, has
selected a good article published recently in IEEE Vehicular Technology
Magazine and provides you with a technical summary.
As usual, I look forward to receiving your feedback on how we are doing and how we can better serve all VTS members in future. You can contact me directly by email at a.jamalipour@ieee.org. |
