Due to the unprecedented situation with the Coronavirus outbreak, global restrictions on travel, and limits on gathering of certain number of people in confined areas in several countries, VTS is making the following changes to the Distinguished Lecturer (DL) and Distinguished Speaker (DS) Program.
These changes are necessary to ensure that the health and safety of our volunteers, members, and other attendees in the lectures are assured.
- All pre-approved DL / DS tours are suspended until 30 June 2020. The date may change and/or extended beyond 30 June 2020 as the situation with Coronavirus changes.
- Distinguished Lecturers and Distinguished Speakers may choose to post pre-recorded lectures online, with the agreement with the respective local chapter(s).
- For Distinguished Lecturers whose terms end in June 2020, VTS will grant a 6-month term extension.
- VTS also waives the requirement for a minimum of one Distinguished Lecture per two years for the first half of 2020, for any DL that has not yet met this condition.
