IEEE VTS is closely monitoring developments related to the rapidly-evolving COVID-19 pandemic. Please know that our thoughts are with all those affected
As President, it is my duty to spearhead efforts to ensure the best level of services we can in this difficult time, while keeping the health and safety of our members, volunteers, and our global community as our foremost priority.
Along with the VTS Executive Committee and the VTS Board of Governors, I will continue to monitor the situation and make necessary changes to services affected by the outbreak. At the same time, we will put our energy towards introducing new methods to deliver regular member services.
Be assured that VTS is with you and behind you. We will do all we possibly can to reduce the impact of this unprecedented situation on educational and training activities for our members in academia, government, and industry.
Together, we will endure this difficult time and come out from it with greater experience and innovation. I encourage all members to please stay strong, safe, and positive.
I am always available to you for any questions, suggestions, ideas, or comments on how VTS can better serve our membership. You can contact me directly at a.jamalipour@ieee.org.
We wish you and all people success in dealing with any local challenges you may be facing.
In emergency sessions, the VTS Executive Committee and the VTS Conference Committee discussed options and developed a number of ad hoc solutions to address arising issues in conferences, the Distinguished Lecturer (DL) and Distinguished Speaker (DS) Program, publications, and the VTS Resource Center. These solutions were approved by the VTS Board of Governors via remote ballot. Please continue to other articles in this issue for further specifics, and check associated websites frequently for the most current updates.
