Technical events and conferences in general, due to their natural need of gathering large number of people and wide range of travels, have been the most impacted services of all organizations. VTS conferences are no exception.
VTS understands the fact that conferences are important factor in the publication of papers by graduate students and academics, in the dissemination of new products and services by industry and government agencies, and in providing a networking platform for the profession.
We decided to focus on making sure we can still publish papers accepted in our major conferences to facilitate both the advancement and graduation of students, and also the documentation and dissemination of novel ideas and outcomes from the research community.
Consequently, we will make gradual decisions on all future conferences run by IEEE Vehicular Technology Society:
IEEE VTC2020-Spring will now be a fully virtual conference, keeping the original date of 25–28 May 2020.
Recognizing that this formula will not produce the usual professional networking environment, our goal is to enable VTC2020-Spring to retain some of its objectives.
As soon as the platform is completed—currently being developed under the guidance of the IEEE Event Emergency Response Team (EERT)—we will provide detailed instructions on presentation. Please check the VTC2020-Spring webpage frequently for updated information for authors and attendees.
IEEE Wireless Africa 2020 has been rescheduled to 19–20 November 2020 in Cape Town, South Africa. Please send your strong support to this great event specially designed for Africa by submitting your papers.
IEEE VTC2020-Fall will still be held in Victoria, BC, Canada on 4–7 October 2020. Please support this event with your great paper submissions. We will continue to monitor the global health situation, and make reasonable decisions on the format of the conference and delivery of its goals in the coming months.
Our 2020 Joint Rail Conference (JRC) with ASME, which was slated for 20–22 April 2020 in Union Station Hotel in St. Louis, MO, USA, is now postponed to 19–21 April 2021 at the same venue.
VTS and ASME regret having to reschedule the conference, but the safety of our participants is our utmost priority. The 2020 JRC Organizing Committee has informed current registrants that they will receive a full refund.
We will continue to strive to be flexible and helpful to everyone during this time of difficulty. VTS will maintain its full support of IEEE’s Mission and Vision. |
