In the United States, the National Deployment Plan aims to equip 85% of signalized intersections with C-V2X by 2027. Furthermore, the FCC has granted waivers to more than 50 entities to deploy C-V2X direct communications, supported by the U.S. DOT’s V2X National Deployment Plan (2024).
South Korea is following suit, focusing on safety and efficiency. The revision of Europe’s ITS Directive and the U.S. V2X Deployment Plan emphasize a combination of vehicle-to-network and infrastructure-to-vehicle communication to improve road safety.
