 The IEEE VTS Chicago Chapter has 73 members and is situated in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The current chapter officers are:

- Ziru Chen, IEEE VTS Young Professionals Chair
The Chapter typically holds a minimum of 6 meetings per year.
Past lecture topics include mobility and efficiency of transportation and vehicles, autonomous and connected vehicles, EMC automotive testing, natural language processing and visual place recognition for autonomous vehicles, and electric vehicle batteries and automotive assembly.
The IEEE VTS Chicago Chapter was a huge local supporter of IEEE VTC2018-Fall, held in Chicago 27 – 30 August 2018. Several IEEE VTS Chicago members attended and presented at the conference.
IEEE VTS Chicago Chair Alvin Chin was honored with a certificate of appreciation for his work as IEEE VTC2018-Fall Industry Sessions Co-chair, paper speaker, Panel Chair, Workshop Keynote Speaker and Industry Sponsor on behalf of BMW.
In June 2019, the IEEE VTS Chicago chapter, IEEE Computer Society Chicago Chapter, and IEEE MTTS Chapter hosted speaker Paul Wesling (above), who spoke about the computing technology and innovation in Silicon Valley leading to the autonomous vehicle. Dr. Chin was able to show attendees a BMW i8 convertible (below) afterwards (since he works at BMW!)
