The Metro North West Line is Stage 1 of Sydney Metro and includes 22 mi of track, 13 stations, and a depot. The line will provide a train every 4 min in each direction during peak hours.
Under a contract awarded by Northwest Rapid Transit in September 2014, Alstom is responsible for project management, design, supply, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning of the 22 six-car Metropolis trains. Alstom was awarded a 15-year maintenance contract for the trains, signaling, depot operations, and equipment. The maintenance contract also includes the application of Alstom’s HealthHub state-of-the-art predictive maintenance tools.
The HealthHub tools for Northwest Metro include the Catenary Tracer, Track Tracer, Train Tracer, broken rail detection, and point machine detection.
