Best Papers Awards (2014—18)

The Best Papers Awards recognize the best papers published in the Transactions of Vehicular Technology during the period 2014—18 in the following four areas: Systems, Propagation, Vehicular Electronics, and Land Transportation. Each award consists of a certificate for each co-author and a cash award equally divided among the co-authors. The basis for judging includes, but is not limited to, the number of citations, excluding self-citations, in various citation databases; the number of IEEE Xplore downloads.

This award recognizes the outstanding Chapter of IEEE Vehicular Technology Society out of all active VTS Chapters. The basis for judging includes the following criteria: (i) service to chapter membership in terms of technical activities, (ii) service to chapter membership in terms of societal activities, (iii) chapter membership advancement, fellow nominations, and awards, (iv) chapter membership growth. The award consists of a plaque presented to the Chair of the Chapter.

2019 Outstanding Service Award

For individuals who provide outstanding volunteer contributions to VTS Board of Governors and to the Society. It consists of a plaque and $1,000.

2019 James Evans Avant Garde Award

For leadership and continuing contributions in promoting new technology in the field of Vehicular Communications and Electronics. It consists of a plaque and $1,000.

Citation: For pioneering contributions to multiple antenna transmission systems and optical wireless communications, in particular spatial modulation and LiFi (Light Fidelity)

2019 Early Career Award

To recognize outstanding young scientists or engineers who have made relevant contributions to the theoretical, experimental and operational aspects of electrical and electronics engineering in the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society fields of interest that include mobile radio, motor vehicles and land transportation. It consists of a plaque and $1,500.
