Welcome to the March 2018 issue of VTS Mobile World—your
IEEE Vehicular Technology Society newsletter. In this issue, our President
presents his message on increasing membership values to industry.
Later on, the
Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, the
highly-ranked VTS journal, provides a report to the membership on the status of
the Transactions. A call for new
candidates to the successful Distinguished Lecturer program, introduction of
Washington VTS Chapter, and a call for VTS Awards nominations are among other
news in this issue.
This March's issue includes our regular informative technical reports on
connected vehicles, mobile radio, and transportation systems—the three major
activities of the Society. We will also have an article on motor vehicles: Smart
Balancing Systems: An Ultimate Solution to the Weakest Cell Problem? This
article presents a novel idea on improving cell battery life for electric vehicles.
Also in this issue are informative technical reports on motor vehicles, connected vehicles, mobile radio, and transportation systems—all major activities of the Society. Associate Editor-in-Chief Richard Yu has selected a nice article published recently in IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine on LTE-V for Sidelink 5G V2X Vehicular Communications, and provides a technical summary.
As usual, I look
forward to receiving your feedback on how we are doing, and how we can better
serve all VTS members in the future. You can contact me directly by email at a.jamalipour@ieee.org. |
