The 2016 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (VPPC2016) is organized by Zhejiang University and will be held in Hangzhou, China 17–20 October 2016, the 13th in the series following the very successful VPPC2015 in Montréal, Canada, and VPPC2014 in Coimbra, Portugal.
VPPC is one of the global flagship conferences for advanced vehicles, with particular emphasis on electric transportation to promote green technologies. It is very timely to hold the VPPC in China again, as the pace of development and commercialization of electric vehicles is accelerating, with very strong support from the Chinese government.
In order to promote clean technologies for future transportation systems, this conference aims to provide a forum for sharing state-of-the-art knowledge, experience and ideas in all aspects of vehicle power and propulsion, via keynote speeches, technical papers, tutorials and industry exhibitions.
Hangzhou, the conference site and former Chinese national capital, has enjoyed over 2200 years of prosperity, and is the provincial capital of Zhejiang. As one of the most renowned and delicate Chinese cities, Hangzhou is well known for its beautiful natural reserves. It was admired by Marco Polo, the famous Italian traveller in the 13th century, as the Most Beautiful and Elegant City in the World. It is now listed as a World Natural and Cultural Heritage site. Moreover, transportation to Hangzhou is convenient, with its own international airport, and is only one hour by fast train away from the largest city in China, Shanghai. Hangzhou is also an example city for the xEV buses, taxis and passenger cars.
VPPC2016 will be held at Zhejiang Hotel, a garden hotel enclosed by mountains and lakes in Hangzhou City. Many famous scenic spots of the West Lake are within several kilometers. The beautiful landscape and attentive service promises to bring you a perfect experience during the conference.
