On 11 March 2026, the IEEE VTS Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology (SCET) Student Branch (SB) Chapter—in collaboration with the IEEE Transportation Electrification Council (TEC)–VTS Gujarat Section Joint Chapter, IEEE SCET SB, and IEEE Silver Oak University (SOU) SB—organized a webinar on “AI-Enabled Software-Defined Connected Vehicles” for 92 attendees. The great success of this event was due in no small part to the active participation of all involved.
The webinar began with the inauguration of the IEEE Transportation Electrification Council – Vehicular Technology Society (TEC–VTS) Joint Chapter of the IEEE Gujarat Section, marking a significant milestone in cooperation between the two groups. The ceremony included the unveiling of the chapter logo, and addresses by the guests of honor: 2024 IEEE MGA Vice President Deepak Mathur and IEEE Gujarat Section Chair Chirag Paunwala. Their talks highlighted the importance of vehicular technology and transportation electrification.
After the initial section concluded, the main technical keynote was delivered by Dr. Neeli Rashmi Prasad, who provided valuable insights into the transition from software-defined vehicles (SDV) to AI-defined vehicles (AIDV). She discussed key advancements such as automotive ethernet, edge-to-cloud architectures, digital twins, and multi-agent systems; along with a review of the challenges related to safety, governance, and certification of AI-driven mobility systems.
The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, offering participants an opportunity to engage with Dr. Prasad, which they did enthusiastically. Overall, the event served as a platform for sharing knowledge, fostering interest in emerging vehicular technologies, and encouraging active involvement in IEEE VTS and TEC initiatives.
