The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) has approved a number of travel grants to support US-based students attending the 2026 IEEE 104th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2026-Fall) in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, , 6 – 9 September 2026. VTC2026-Fall is the semi-annual flagship conference of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society and brings together participants from academia, government, and industry to exchange ideas in wireless, mobile, and vehicular technology.
The NSF Student Travel Grant program is intended to broaden participation by enabling undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at US institutions to attend and actively participate in local technical events.
The technical scope of VTC2026-Fall includes 6G and emerging technologies; IoV/IoT/sensor/ad hoc networking; AI/ML for communications; satellite/UAV/maritime networks; spectrum and radio access technologies; and vehicular cooperation, communication, radar, and control.
Students whose research interests are related to wireless communications, mobile networking, vehicular systems, intelligent transportation, IoT, UAV/satellite/non-terrestrial networks, AI/ML for communications, spectrum sharing, security, and related areas are encouraged to apply. Applicants may have accepted papers, however, an accepted paper is not a requirement for eligibility..
