The IEEE Open Journal on Vehicular Technology (OJVT) is soliciting papers to publish in a Special Section on Innovative Components for Vehicle Electrification, in collaboration with IEEE VPPC 2020.
The electrification of transportation systems requires the development of increasingly innovative components, from elements within the charging infrastructure to in-vehicle devices. Research into advanced and innovative electric propulsion technologies are needed to push electrified vehicles to market.
In an effort to promote excellence of research in vehicle power and propulsion, and in conjunction with the 2020 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (IEEE VPPC 2020), we have organized a Special Section for the IEEE OJVT, focusing on research, development, and future trends of innovative components for vehicle electrification. Topics of interest include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Batteries, supercapacitors, flywheels systems embedded in hybrid and electrical vehicles
- Power electronics converters and electrical machines designed and embedded in innovative electrified vehicles
- Technology for vehicle charging and vehicle-to-everything
- Electronics systems for hybrid vehicles, electrical vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles
- Automotive, railway, subway, ships, aeronautic, aerospace applications
For this Special Section, papers relating to the system level (i.e., considering a complete vehicle) will not be considered.
Potential authors are invited to submit their original contributions for consideration to be published in this special section. A thorough peer review will be conducted to select top papers to be included. Only papers presented at the IEEE VPPC 2020 will be considered in this special issue.
Please note that the IEEE OJVT requires that a journal submission offer substantive novel contributions beyond the previous work in a conference paper. Submitted papers require an extension of at least of 51% of content (ideas), and a new title. Moreover, as the similarity index with the conference paper must be under 50%, authors are encouraged to ensure a sufficient margin to avoid desk rejection.
Submission Requirements
All submissions must include the following elements:
- Proposed journal paper
- Conference paper from which the journal submission was developed
- Cover letter referencing the “IEEE VPPC 2020 Special Section”
- Supplementary file containing a list of the major differences between the conference paper and the journal submission
The review process will include only one round of revision. Authors are expected to submit revised papers as soon as the first round review results are received.
All submission deadlines will be maintained with no extensions. After the Manuscript Submission deadline, papers may be submitted as regular journal papers (all the same requirements will apply) but will not be considered for this Special Section.
All manuscripts must follow the guidelines under the Information for Authors at the IEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology website. Please submit your manuscript in electronic form through Manuscript Central.
On the submission page #1 in the popup menu for the manuscript type, select “Special Issue” and in the special Issue topic please select: “Innovative Components for Vehicle Electrification”. The IEEE OJVT is an open access journal with an APC of USD1750. A reduction of 30% on APC is reserved for the accepted papers of this Special Section.
