As is customary at the beginning of each calendar year, newly elected members will be joining the VTS Board of Governors. The election took place over the course of the summer, and the following candidates have been elected for a 3-year term extending from 2021 to 2023.
Re-elected BoG members Javier Gozalvez, Lajos Hanzo, James Irvine and Weihua Zhuang are joined by newcomer Yue Gao, from University of Surrey. This election was marked by yet another increase in voter participation, at 26.7%. The increase in participation was particularly large in Region 10 (Asia-Pacific).
At its last meeting of year 2020, the Board of Governors also elected the Society officers for 2021. President Abbas Jamalipour will, in 2021, lead a team of officers seeing two notable changes from 2020: Oliver Holland will be the Society’s founding administrative Vice President—Standards, and Cara Levy will be the Society’s technical Vice President—Motor Vehicles. All other officers will continue in their roles for the next year. |
