It is a great honor for me to join the Editorial Board of the IEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology (OJVT) as its inaugural Editor-in-Chief.
I would like to thank VTS Vice President—Publications Weihua Zhuang, VTS President Alex Wyglinski, and the VTS Board of Governors as a whole for their trust and confidence in me to lead the launch of the OJVT and its first-phase development.
OJVT is an open access journal that aims to publish high-quality papers in theoretical, experimental, and operational aspects of electrical and electronics engineering in all areas of vehicular technology, including topics such as:
- Connected and autonomous vehicles
- Electric railways
- Vehicular power systems
- 5G/6G communications
This new journal will be fully compliant with funding mandates including Plan S. It will have an independent editorial board and an established peer review process compliant with IEEE Rules.
OJVT is published exclusively online, offering free access to all readers through the IEEE Xplore® digital library. There are NO page limits for OJVT papers. The per-article processing charge is US$1750, with no overlength page charges. IEEE members receive a 5% discount on this fee; VTS members will receive a 15% discount.
As Editor-in-Chief, I will work with our editors to strive for the highest in quality, efficiency, and impact for our authors, readers, and the technical community-at-large. We aim to achieve a fast submission-to-publication cycle of 10 weeks with rapid yet high quality and rigorous reviews.
I am working closely with VP—Publications Weihua Zhuang to set up the editorial board. We are also working with the IEEE Peer Review Support Team to prepare the ScholarOne Manuscripts submission site. We aim to start accepting paper submissions from 1 September 2019, and publish the first article in early 2020.
Please mark your calendar and be among the first to have your article peer-reviewed and appear in the January 2020 debut of OJVT.
