Title: DSRC
and WAVE Technologies that Drive Vehicular Connectivity
Authors:
Alexander M. Wyglinski, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), USA
Description: An
overview of DSRC and WAVE is provided, focusing on the MAC protocol used for
facilitating vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications,
in addition to the network architecture used to form these complex networks.
Several commonly used software tools used to study V2V and V2I communications
and networks, and a number of case studies involving V2V and V2I will be
examined using these tools.
Title: Control
and Optimization of Autonomous Vehicles
Author:
Stefano
DiCairano, Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories, USA
Description: This lecture focuses on
the multi-layer nature of the guidance and control system for smart and
autonomous vehicles, and on the interaction of the vehicle control system with
higher level decision logics such as path planning. After reviewing a general
architecture for vehicle guidance and control, we introduce tools such as model
predictive control, invariance, and constrained control that can be used to
implement such architecture.
