The IEEE UK and Ireland VTS Chapter was formed in
2011 by Dr. Oliver Holland of King’s College London and Dr. Keith Nolan of
Trinity College Dublin. It was formed in recognition of strong interest
expressed by members of VTS in the UK and Ireland in the creation of a local Chapter,
noting prominent mobile communications, vehicular communications and vehicular
technology research and industrial interests in the UK and Ireland.
Ever since
its inception—and, indeed, inherently in the approach taken to its
formulation—the IEEE UK and Ireland VTS Chapter has striven to capture the
interests of both the vehicular- and communications-related technology areas,
as well as the interaction between them, on both sides of the Irish Channel.
