Register now and join us for an exciting adventure in Boston!
Early registration ends Sunday 26 July 2026.
VTC2026-Fall attendees will have much to do and see during their visit to Boston, Massachusetts. One of the oldest cities in the US, Boston maintains much of its colonial architecture in the Beacon Hill and Boston Common areas and along The Freedom Trail.
The city is very tourist-friendly and walkable, as well as being home to excellent local transportation, including the historic Green Line: a light rail and streetcar combo network, and the oldest subway in the US.
The conference venue—the Hilton Boston Park Plaza—is one block south of Boston Common, and is walking distance from the iconic Cheers bar (basis of the eponymous ‘80s TV series), Union Oyster House (Boston’s oldest restaurant, open since 1826), and many other fine dining establishments.
Autonomous Vehicle Racing Competition
On Sunday 6 September, tutorials and workshops will take place, as well as the 30TH Roboracer Autonomous Racer Competition. Ten teams will compete in the hotel ballroom on a specially-designed race course.
Industry Development Day
Our inaugural Industry Development Day will be held on Tuesday 8 September. The main feature is the Hands-On 5G Modeling Workshop with MathWorks, a 90-minute interactive 5G network modeling session hosted by MathWorks. Attendees will use MATLAB Online to design and simulate next-generation mobile networks. This workshop is free for conference registrants, and includes complimentary temporary software licenses.

IEEE VTS VP—Membership Neeli Prasad and IEEE VTS-Young Professionals Liaison Taimoor Abbas will spearhead this effort in cooperation with General Co-chair Josep M. Jornet. A career development panel featuring voices from industry, academia, students, and young professionals is being considered. The discussion would focus on career pathways, hiring trends, essential skills for today’s job market, and the impact of AI on the engineering workplace.
Baseball Banquet
In place of the standard conference banquet dinner, also on Tuesday 8, will be a trip to Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. Banquet attendees will attend the night’s scheduled baseball game, taking part in a great American tradition at baseball’s oldest active ballpark.
Full conference registrants and banquet ticket holders will gain entry to the park and receive a $75 concession credit, which may be used at any of the food/drink concessions and fan shops during the game. Buses to and from the park and hotel will run throughout the evening. And the recent addition of a pitch clock to MLB regulations will ensure speedy and high-energy gameplay.
The neighborhood around Fenway Park, known as Fenway-Kenmore, is a cultural and academic hub for Bostonians and visitors alike. You may enjoy strolling through the Back Bay Fens, dining in one of the many restaurants, and dancing in the clubs on Landsdowne Street.
