Generative AI on Snapdragon

On 21 March 2024, Qualcomm announced the new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 mobile platform, bringing on-device generative AI (genAI) into the Snapdragon 7 series.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 showcases new-in-series, on-device genAI capabilities as well as a 45% GPU improvement. This mobile platform is the first in the 7 series to support Wi-Fi 7 with high-band simultaneous multilink for enhanced connectivity.

The mobile platform supports a wide range of AI models including large language models, such as Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, and Gemini Nano. Fueling extraordinary entertainment capabilities, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 also brings new select Snapdragon Elite Gaming features to the 7 series, including Game Post Processing Accelerator and Adreno Frame Motion Engine 2, enhancing game effects and upscaling gaming content for desktop-level visuals. Plus, this platform brings high-quality photography features with Qualcomm’s 18-bit cognitive ISP.

Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will be initially adopted by key original equipment manufacturers, including OnePlus, realme, and SHARP, with commercial devices expected to be announced over the coming months.
