2023 IEEE VTS YP/Student Event

Hong Kong, 11 October 2023: during VTC2023-Fall, the 2023 Young Professionals (YPs) and Student Event attracted 46 student attendees from around the world to explore the latest advancements in vehicular IoT technologies.

The event served as a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange and networking among students and researchers in the field, with a specific focus on AI-enabled techniques within the vehicular IoT.

Key highlights of the day included:

  • Introduction to IEEE VTS: Prof. Celimuge Wu's opening remarks set the stage by emphasizing the role of VTS in advancing technology's frontiers, and offering a platform for the exploration of groundbreaking ideas. His talk, How IEEE VTS Can Help Your Career Development, provided helpful advice for attendees looking to chart a successful career path within the industry.
  • CAVs Enabled Smarter, Safer, and more Sustainable Mobility by Prof. Soufiene Djahel: Prof. Djahel's engaging presentation illuminated the profound impact of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) on modern mobility. His exploration of how CAVs are making transportation smarter, safer, and more sustainable resonated strongly with participants and sparked discussions on the latest developments in the field.
  • Student-led discussions on emerging AI technologies and collaborative autonomous driving: These discussions centered on topics such as federated learning, privacy security, and collaborative control, and emphasized the importance of staying updated in this rapidly evolving field.
  • Student questionnaires: The event concluded with a student questionnaire, giving attendees an opportunity to express their feedback and insights. Attendees passionately expressed their enthusiasm for more gatherings and more platforms that facilitate access to the latest insights in the world of vehicular technology.
