IEEE VTS is a sponsor of the IEEE RFID Council and has a representation on their council organization meetings, as technical activities in RFID are of interest to VTS members and can advance vehicular technology.
The role of VTS-RFID Council Liaison will serve as a bridge between VTS and the IEEE RFID Council, and enable collaboration that serves the mission, goals and objectives of VTS. Our general responsibility is to bring the VTS perspective in Council meeting discussions, and if possible, promote VT applications in Council activities, which may include but is not limited to:
- To drive stronger academic and industry engagement in the joint area of VT and RFID
- To establish a joint track or SI as part of IEEE VTS/RFID flagship conferences and journals
- To keep VTS and RFID Council members informed of potential collaboration opportunities from both entities
