The IEEE VTS International Summer School on Energetic
Efficiency of Connected Vehicles 2017 is dedicated to Master and PhD
students, engineers and scientists, from both academia and industry, with
the aim of promoting and making known the works related to the energetic
efficiency of connected and autonomous vehicles.
The main objective is to link two strong topics of the
IEEE Vehicular Technology Society in order to build a synergy toward an
effective mobility: Connected Vehicles and Power & Propulsion (electric,
hybrid and fuel cell vehicles especially). To achieve this goal, the
summer school will bring together peoples from both scientific
communities.
The Connected Vehicles and Power & Propulsion
fundamentals will be given to the attendees by IEEE VTS Distinguished
Lecturers. Moreover, simulation and practical work will be performed.
After that, team works will be dedicated to develop new concepts. No
doubt, the created synergy will lead to vibrant and exciting ideas for
this new hot topic of electric engineering!
Several outstanding lecturers are already confirmed:
- Prof. KT Chau, University of Hong Kong, "Fundamentals of Battery
Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Machines and Drives";
- Prof. Alex Wyglinski, Worcester Polytechnic Institute,
"Fundamentals of connected vehicles";
- Prof. Junmin Wang, Ohio State University, "Energy Efficiency
Enhancement for Personalized and Connected Vehicles"
- Prof. Hicham Chaoui, Carleton University, Energetic efficiency of
connected vehicles;
- Prof. Sousso Kelouwani, Université du Québec à
Trois-Rivières, Overview of ongoing research;
- Prof. Loïc Boulon, Université du Québec à
Trois-Rivières, "Energy sources and Energy management for
Electric & Hybrid vehicles.
The afternoon will be dedicated to team work:
The summer school will
be held at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières
(Trois-Rivières, QC, Canada). Practical information for
registration and venue is available on the summer school website.
