Welcome to our new IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) electronic publication entitled "VTS Mobile World".  I'm very pleased and excited to share relevant VTS topics using this monthly forum. 

"VTS Mobile World", our newest VTS membership benefit was conceived in response to the member communication goals established by the VTS Board of Governors, who, with great wisdom, realize the value in having a monthly communication tool available to report, promote and educate the membership.

Our vision for "VTS Mobile World" is to present timely and relevant content in an informal electronic newsletter.  As with the printed media, the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and the Vehicular Technology Magazine, we will strive to keep you up-to-date with advances in the industry, events of interest and more.  We are quite anxious to hear from you on the types of topics you would be interested in for future editions of "VTS Mobile World".

Along with the recent redesign of our membership brochure, we have been working with Joseph Skibbie (pictured at right) of JRS Mar/Com to produce monthly content and report on upcoming events. Joe is a Marketing MBA who is anxious to learn and looks forward to the technical vetting he is sure to receive through the process of drafting articles. Joe made it clear that, "I welcome member feedback as a way to learn more about the numerous advances in the industries we will be covering in future issues." You can share your feedback with Joe personally at jskibbie@jrsmarcom.com.

In this month's issue we cover Electric Ships, Ad Hoc Sensor Networks and Hybrid Electric Vehicles. We encourage you to take part in our initial survey to let us know the types of information you would like to read about in the future.  Leading with our VTS President Dr. Jae Hong Lee,  we will introduce you to one elected and/or appointed member of the VTS Board of Governors each month.  

If you work in any of these fields and/or have knowledge that may be helpful to the rest of the society, please message Joe and let us know how we are doing. If you have upcoming events, please share so that we may promote them appropriately. If you wish to report on an event that we are unable to cover, please submit a write-up with a few pictures and we will work to find space for your content.
